California Yacht Club and 8 meter sloop Yucca under sail.

A truly wonderful photo of the scene at CYC in 1937. At the dock, (left to right) a schooner, either WATERWAGON or TAMALMAR, sisters built at Stephens Bros. in 1927. WATERWAGON later became ALOTOLA. Next is an M-boat, either PATOLITA (M-17, later SIRIUS II) or AVATAR (M-11, later PURSUIT) with an R-boat tied alongside. Astern of the M-boat is the N-class sloop WESTWARD. Sailing in the foreground is YUCCA, the Nick Potter-designed Eight-Metre. At the far right of the photo is Don Douglas' ENDYMION just re-rigged as a cutter by Wilmington Boat Works whose sheds can be seen in the background.
